MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers

MOPS Heidelberg - Better Moms Make A Better World

WHAT IS MOPS?

MOPS stands for "Mothers of Preschoolers" and is designed to provide support, encouragement, and hope to an international community of moms just like you! MOPS Heidelberg are mothers who live in or around Heidelberg, whether new or already settled in the area. Our mothers come from around the world – over 15 countries! ALL women who are pregnant or have young children (birth through kindergarten) are invited to join us. As of this year we will offer translation of the main program topics and will have both German and English discussion groups. So, of course German moms are most welcome, too!

We are a local chapter of an international organization. “MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.” (see www.MOPS.org for more information)

WHAT DO WE DO?

MOPS Heidelberg Rohrbach-Süd generally meets two Tuesday mornings a month from September to May. Moms enjoy breakfast and a short program before dividing into small groups for discussion. We also offer a Faithbook Club on Friday mornings. Next to morning meetings, many additional events and activities are offered throughout the year like date nights out, ladies nights out, evening meetings, fundraisers and fun playdates.

Tuesday sample meeting topics include:

  • How to bring out the best in every child
  • Becoming parents who say yes
  • Becoming man whisperers
  • How to deal with anger
  • Creative Activities

DO I HAVE TO SPEAK ENGLISH?

On Tuesdays, meetings are conducted in English but will be translated in German and discussion groups are available in both languages. On Fridays, we have two distinct Faithbook clubs, one in English, one in German.

IS CHILDCARE PROVIDED?

YES! While moms meet together in MOPS, your little ones are loved and encouraged in MOPPETS. With playtime, stories, singing, crafts and snacks, MOPPETS is more than babysitting! It’s a childcare program your children will benefit from and enjoy! Advance registration required.
